Credit cards are incredibly popular among both creditors and consumers for a variety of reasons, so it's unsurprising that credit card companies come out with new offers every couple of months or years to keep people interested in the credit card market.
As it would turn out, 2022 is a great year to get your hands on some pretty good credit offers; here are some credit cards you should be seeing if you qualify for.
Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card
Amazon has been an influential company for a long time, but it's become especially prominent in 2022. As a result, Amazon, in conjunction with Visa, has released a new credit card that presents users with quite a few benefits.
In addition to offering users an Amazon gift card welcome bonus, the credit card comes with a fairly generous 5% cash back when you shop at either Amazon or Whole Foods (which is owned by Amazon). However, the card also offers more traditional cash back options (1-2%) on things like gas stations and restaurants.
While the benefits of the card are pretty good, it can be difficult to acquire due to the stringent credit limit, although most good cards are going to have high requirements. Also, even if your application is accepted, you might be subject to an interest rate upwards of 22%; not a terrible rate, but still mediocre overall.
U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card
A much more general-purpose card, the Altitude Go Visa card comes with a fairly generous rewards scheme that can net you some pretty good savings in the long-run.
With no annual fee attached, this credit card has a 0% intro APR and a 20,000 point ($200) bonus that applies to your card if you spend $1000 within a 3-month period. Its overall reward system is multifaceted, although somewhat confusing, and involves receiving 4 points per $1 spent on restaurant items and 1 point per $1 spent on every other purchase.
Exceptionally low interest rates aren't really possible with 15% APR being the lowest possible rate you can get, although rates cap at less than 25%. Despite this rather minor drawback and there being a sizeable balance transfer fee, the card is overall very solid.
Discover It Student Cash Back
Although, as the name implies, this card is only available to students, it's worth mentioning because it's got some pretty decent perks (with some caveats) and doesn't really require good credit like a lot of other credit cards.
With a pretty decent 13.24% to 22.24% APR, a first-year cashback reward bonus, and a decent amount of cashback options, this card is perfect for students on a budget and can be obtained with limited or no credit history.
Of course, a major drawback is that it's from Discover, which has a limited number of vendors who accept it, and the card must be used consistently for cashback options to remain open.
Wells Fargo Reflect Card
For those looking to use a new credit card strategically and don't want to focus too much on perks and frills, the Reflect Card is a nice go-to option.
Unlike a lot of other top-tier cards, this credit card doesn't come with a reward system or introductory bonus. However, its biggest selling point is that it has an 18-month 0% APR grace period when you first get accepted and if you make a balance transfer within the first 4 months, your balance transfer fee is 2% lower than it would be normally.
Beyond those two benefits though, it's a pretty standard card for people with good credit.
Petal Visa Credit Card
While most of these cards you can only get with really good credit or if you meet specific requirements, the Petal Visa Card is a good option if your credit has taken a massive nose-dive.
Specifically designed for people with bad credit, this credit card has a pretty steep APR (20-30%), but does come with a hefty rewards program of up to 10% at certain retailers, which is pretty rare for
A really big issue though, is the credit limit, which can start off pretty small ($300) and can potentially increase every six months, although the exact amount will vary from person to person.
Picking The Right Card for You
There are a lot of cards out there to choose from, but it's always a good idea to check out wha'ts new to see what you're missing out on. If any of the aforementioned cards appeal to you, then they're worth checking out.
